My battle with a hospital acquired MRSA infection
Universal Screening
Hello Everyone:

With my research, I found there are some hospitals that are going all out to find out what patients have MRSA, while other hospitals are doing very little. These hospitals are doing universal screening of all patients, not just, select few as some hospitals are doing.

Research proves that you cannot prevent the spread of this deadly bacteria if you don’t know the source. That is why some hospitals are using the universal screening of all patients for MRSA.

According to data from Evanston Northwestern Healthcare indicated, that people who carry MRSA in their noses, have a 10 times higher rate of developing MRSA infection over the next 6 to 18 months. Universal screening and decolonization can prevent these later infections.
